Without a doubt. It’s not even close. Think about it…a product that must be untucked for your feet to have room is not a properly designed product.
The plain flat top sheet is a status quo disaster…it is tight and irritating on the feet. Moreover, since we use the bed differently today because of TVs,
smart phones, and tablets, we spend far more time reclined on our backs in a viewing position. In this position the feet want to rest in their natural right angle not contorting against a tight top covering. Kangapoda is so
much more comfortable once you have experienced having room for your feet—watching TV, reading, surfing the web, resting or sleeping on your back—you will never want to lie under a plain flat top sheet ever again. Why would you?! Our 600 thread count 100% extra-long-staple Egyptian Cotton Sateen is gorgeous and will give you ergonomic pleasure for years. Likewise with the 400 thread count 100% cotton sateen, but at a much more affordable price point for some customers.
No, it’s a snap. It is basically identical to making the bed with a plain flat top sheet you just need to position the ergonomic canopy at the bottom of the bed (since it is for your feet not your head) with the ceiling of the canopy toward the ceiling of the room. Visually, the ergonomic canopy looks just like a bed scarf across the foot of the bed.
The ergonomic canopy is a logical, patent-protected design utilizing extra fabric and extra workmanship. It lies flat when not in use to mimic a plain flat top covering…and its lines are clean and neat. When you lie under the covers on your back, the ergonomic canopy expands and drapes your feet
eliminating the tension of a taut flat top covering.
You should buy a Kangapoda if you want to be under the tucked-in covers face up without fighting the covers because of the tightness at the foot of the bed. It is so much more ergonomically comfortable that you will never want to watch TV, read, or sleep on your back under a regular top sheet and blanket again.
Kangapoda does not carry a large finished goods inventory. However, the
good news is that Kangapoda now has its own factory in Pompano Beach,
Florida. We do not have to place volume orders months in advance with a third-party manufacturer. If we do not have your desired item in stock, we will make it. We can also do special orders. For example, basketball players
often require an even larger ergonomic canopy for their very large feet.
Kanga comes from Kangaroo (a marsupial pouched animal), and Kangapoda’s foot canopy acts as a pouch for the feet. Poda is the Latin word for foot.
Kangapoda is perfect for you. You California King guys and gals have been
suffering for years with the tightness at the bottom of the bed. When you
recline, your feet reach where the covers are tucked under the mattress.
This is the absolute tightest, most uncomfortable place in the bed. In
recognition that taller people generally have larger feet, we make the ergonomic canopy of the Cal-King ergonomic top sheet even larger than the ergonomic canopy of a standard King. Similarly, we make the Twin XL’s
ergonomic canopy larger than the standard Twin’s canopy.
Yes…Much easier!! However, this is an important question with complexramifications so allow us to give a more complete answer. If you untuck thecovers…either you must tuck them back in the next morning…essentiallyre-making the bed from scratch…or leave the bed a mess. Since making thebed from scratch is a drag, many people don’t do it. Instead of returninghome to a neat and crisp sanctuary, they return home to a rumpled andlazy-feeling bed. Think about it…if you stayed in a hotel and returned to anunmade bed…you would be furious. Your bed is a symbol of you. There'ssomething about having your bed feel orderly that makes your life feelthat way too. The Sleep Foundation did a study and found that thosewho make their beds every day are more likely to get a good night'ssleep versus those who do not. With Kangapoda…since you don’t have toyank out the covers to be comfortable…you don’t have to make the bedfrom scratch the next morning. Smoothing things out is much easier andfaster than having to re-tuck everything. So, in addition to your comfortunder the covers, Kangapoda contributes to your entire day feeling moreorganized and to your coming home to a neat, inviting bed.
Yes, of course. The absolute tightest spot with an old top sheet is the foot of the bed. However, since the bottom piece that gets tucked in is generous in length…you can position the canopy a little farther up on the bed if you prefer.
Yes. The ergonomic canopy is large enough and expansive enough…and theentrance for your feet accommodating enough where two persons of verydifferent heights can experience the benefits simultaneously.
Yes, Kangapoda top sheets use 45% more material than the regular top sheet, mainly due to the canopy.
Yes, substantially more material is used in making the KangaPlushTM blanket. For example, in the KangaPlushTM King-size, 74% more material is used vis-à-vis a standard king-size in the stores. The top portion of the KangaPlushTM alone is just about the size of a standard King-size blanket. Not to mention, we also have the canopy and the bottom portion of the blanket for your tucked-in comfort.
The short answer is Kangapoda offers vastly more product at a substantially lower price point than most all of the high-end sheet vendors! Moving beyond the Kangapoda Top Sheet’s canopy, the two major components of a delicious sheet set are: (i) the caliber of the fabric; and (ii) the quality of the workmanship. Kangapoda’s 600 thread count, 100% extra-long-staple Egyptian cotton percale is magnificent—it is a soft, durable, finely woven broadcloth. It will last you for years and continue to get even softer with washing. We iteratively went back and forth with our weaver to make various enhancements to ensure that we are offering you a truly exceptional fabric. Beautiful sheets are often touted as coming from Italy due to Italy’s fine workmanship. Our Made in America workmanship is second to none. Tremendous TLC (tender/loving/care) and exacting detail work has gone into the manufacture of your Kangapoda luxurious, 100% extra-long-staple Egyptian cotton sheets. You are truly making an investment in your long-term ergonomic comfort. (See chart below for Sheet Set Price Comparison)
Click here to see the chart! And see the very significant price differential between the patented Kangapoda Top Sheet and various very-high-end plain old-style top sheets. We used King-size prices as our basis for comparison. The above prices are taken directly from various bedding companies’ web sites. All of the prices shown above reflect similar extra-long-staple Egyptian cotton, similar high thread counts, and manufacturing excellence. The Bottom Line: the Kangapoda Top Sheet is magnificent, utilizes 47% more high-end fabric, and 5 times the labor, yet is priced substantially below a whole host of high-end vendors. Certainly, there are sheet makers who have earned the reputation and a premium. But, why pay substantially more for less (a plain old-style top sheet) when you can pay substantially less for substantially more (the patented, ergonomically-superior Kangapoda Top sheet).
The KangaPlush™ will be the nicest blanket you have ever owned! It is larger both lengthwise and widthwise, has the ergonomic canopy that works in concert with the Kangapoda Ergonomic Top Sheet, and can be produced in gorgeous two-tones to add drama and richness to the bedroom. The KangaPlush™ Blanket is designed to work in concert with the ergonomic top sheet where the canopy of the top sheet expands within the canopy of the KangaPlush™ Blanket.
It varies with each individual and depends on how often you wash them, whether you use bleach, whether you dry them on lower heat, whether you rotate sheets, whether you keep your pussy cat off of them, etc., but the Kangapoda sheets are beautiful and could last an exceptionally long time.
No.
Percale is a standard weave based on single pick insertion, the technical term for a tight and exacting over under weave in both directions (warp and weft). The one-over-one percale weave creates a much more uniform, stronger, denser, and softer fabric, which not only stands the test of time but also gets better the more you wash it.
Sateen is a fabric made using a satin weave structure but made with cotton yarns instead of silk. The fiber is woven in a specific long lateral pattern. In contrast to the one-over, one-under structure of a Percale (standard) weave, warp yarns are floated over weft yarns, for example four over and one under. The long floats produce a smooth surface which gives a more luxurious sheen than plain-weave cotton and is also silkier to the touch. However, because of the looser twists and floats in the weave, sateen is less durable than a percale.
Thread count is one of the sheet benchmarks that the public has been conditioned to viscerally respond to. Yet, it is greatly manipulated by the marketers leading to ambiguity and confusion. A weave utilizing more, very fine threads of extra-long-staple (ELS) Egyptian cotton makes far and away the best fabric. But, even this statement can be intentionally manipulated.
A quick answer is that it is cotton grown in the Nile River Valley, which has the perfect climate for growing the finest cotton in the world. But not all Egyptian cotton is created equal nor is it all grown in the Nile River Valley. Egyptian cotton is grown in several varieties, including the Extra-Long Staple, Long Staple, and regular cotton, and each variety has different characteristics and prices. As a consumer, you should be aware that only a small percentage of Egyptian cotton production is extra-long-staple. One of the reasons for this is that it is picked by hand to put less stress on the fibers. Therefore most products listing Egyptian cotton on the label are not made with ELS yarns. Instead, they are made with one of the other varieties. So be cautious before paying a premium price simply because something is labeled “Egyptian Cotton."
The differences between an excellent, high thread count ELS Egyptian cotton sheet and an inferior one is vast. We all love a deal and obviously want the best price possible when making an investment. But if buzzwords and crazy numbers seem too good to be true, they likely are.
You’ve heard the old expression that compares apples to oranges…well, the Kangapoda sheet set is a completely different proposition from a regular sheet set. The monumental difference is, of course, the Kangapoda Top Sheet. The Kangapoda Top Sheet – all by itself – is more valuable than most sheet sets that have become borderline commodities.
If you are looking to buy another sheet set with a plain old-style top sheet, there are a zillion options. We are not selling ‘me too’ sheet sets. We are offering patented, gorgeous, American-made innovation and increased comfort.
If you are looking for ergonomic comfort that you have never had before under the covers, then you have come to the right place; and, due to our patent protection, we are the only game in town!
So, if what you’re looking for is a bargain on oranges… you've come to the wrong place…as Kangapoda has succulent, patented, ergonomically superior Made-in-America apples…orange you glad you picked the apple!
Apple and orange metaphors aside, the Kangapoda Top Sheet is a completely different proposition from a regular old-style top sheet. The Kangapoda Top Sheet – all by itself – is more valuable than most full sheet sets that have become borderline commodities. The Kangapoda Top Sheet is a patented, ergonomically superior product. Its design requires the cutting, aligning, and stitching of 3 distinct parts and the formation and stitching of the canopy. The Kangapoda King-size Top Sheet requires approximately 47% more material than a regular old-style top sheet. You will also immediately appreciate the beautiful Made-in-America quality of workmanship of the matching deep fitted bottom sheet and beautifully stitched pillowcases.
A luscious cotton velour with an EVA sole so they are water resistant and more protective. They also have a comfortable foam padding in the sole.
They are made of a gorgeous Pumpkin Pie outward-facing velour, and a soft, breathable satin for against the face.
A proprietary fleece we specially designed—and trademarked as KangaPlush™—for its great density, softness, and sheen.
It will be the nicest blanket you’ve ever owned! It’s larger, softer, and has a Kangapoda canopy so when you tuck it in, you can enjoy the plushness and comfort that your feet deserve. Our 3-part construction allows us to produce a blanket larger than any that you would normally find. For example, the dimensions for a standard King-size blanket are 90” x 108”. Depending upon how it is laid on the bed, it is either long enough but not wide enough or it is wide enough but not long enough. Our King-size KangaPlushTM Blanket is 110” x 116” – so it eliminates the issue regarding both width and length – and it has the patented canopy.
Yes, by definition, the construction requires 3 parts to be cut, the canopy to be formed, and all 3 to be joined. It results in almost 5 times the labor for a regular top sheet or blanket.
There is more fabric, cutting, and sewing. It occurred to us that the California King owners, pretty much by definition, had to be taller than the regular King-size owners. Taller people also have larger feet to hold up their larger bodies. So we built-in a larger patented canopy into the Cal-King Kangapodas. And that requires more material, more cutting, and more stitching. Thus, the incrementally higher price.
While Kangapoda has been in existence for several years, it was years of R&D and related in preparation for this launch (see About Us). We are just now introducing our patented, ergonomically-superior, products via a long-form infomercial (which you must see on TV, as it is informative and a real lot of fun to watch). As no one has ever had a Kangapoda, we felt it logical and prudent to begin with the basics. So, we are coming out of the gates with white, light blue, and cream in a soft, durable 600 thread count, 100% Egyptian cotton percale and a white 400 thread count cotton sateen. Incrementally, we will add the other colors. We weren’t ready, willing, and able to tie up that much capital up-front in inventory. If there are particular colors or fabrics that you are interested in, please let us know. Pending, you will love our white, light blue, and cream.
Soon. The KangaPlush™ blankets are extraordinary. We are disappointed that we do not have them for the official launch. But they are well worth the wait. We thank you for your patience.
You are right in your observation. You will see how, after making your selection and hitting ‘add to cart’ that you received a message that ‘the KangaPlush™ blankets are not yet available but are coming soon.’ You may order your KangaPlush™ now, but we are not taking any payment. Effectively, you are informing us of your interest and color choices and you are being placed on our waiting list based on the date and time you tried to place the order. The moment we are ready to go, we will contact you via email based on your order on the wait list. You may then complete the purchase if you so choose. We thank you for your patience, but know you will adore your KangaPlush™.

The exact same way you wash and dry your other sheets.
Machine wash in cold water on a gentle cycle. Caution: NO FABRIC SOFTENER. NO BLEACH. Tumble dry with no heat, delicate cycle.
To prevent abrasion with other clothes, it is best to wash your Kangaplush alone or with similar colored items. Before you begin, set the washer on the gentle cycle. Stronger washing cycles may cause the fleece to form knots. Use only cold (or warm) water, never hot water. Add laundry detergent to the washing machine, but do not use a laundry detergent that contains bleach. It’s also a good idea to avoid fabric softeners when washing fleece because they can damage the finish.
Make sure to never iron the KangaPlush. Irons will melt the synthetic fabric and leave marks on the fleece.
If you are storing your KangaPlush after washing it, fold it and place a scented dryer sheet inside. This will keep the blanket fresh while it is stored in your linen closet.
We will send you an email so you may reset it.
The shopping cart is hopefully easy and intuitive to use. Once you have finished shopping, proceed to the checkout and follow the instructions.
